Things that you should know before using Clomiphene

Your doctor will discuss certain different medical condition that may influence your use of Clomiphene. It is important that your doctor knows your medical history. Here are some medical conditions that may not go well with Clomiphene.

• Pregnant, planning to become pregnant; breast feeding
• If you are taking prescription/non prescription medicine including dietary supplements and herbal meds.
• Developed allergies to certain substances, foods, and medicines.
• Have symptoms related to depression, endometriosis, utring fibroids, and ovarian syndrome

Right Usage of Clomiphene:

Always follow the direction of your doctor when you use Clomiphene. Read the medicine label every time you come for a refill.

• You can take Clomiphene with or without food.
• For best results, you and our partner should properly time your sexual intercourse. The ovulation process should occur within five to ten days after the medication.
• Clomiphene has an effective window of three treatment courses. If the Clomiphene fails to take effect then you will be advised to suspend the use of the drug
• Consult your doctor if you missed your dosage.

Things that you should consider when taking Clomiphene

• Clomiphene causes dizziness or light-headedness. These effects may worsen when you take Clomiphene with alcohol or other medicines. Thus, do not get into hard physical tasks if you are under the influence of the drug such as driving or manual labor. You must have a good understanding how the drug works on your body.
• Your ovaries may enlarge immediately after you take Clomiphene. If this happens, you should call your doctor immediately. Symptoms of enlarged ovaries include weight gain, pelvic pain, and stomach pain.
• Laboratory tests are important to monitor the progress of your medication. Pregnancy testing is routine with Clomiphene treatment.
• Clomiphene is not recommended for the elderly since they are more vulnerable to it.
• Discuss with your doctor the possibility of multiple pregnancy if you are taking Clomiphene. There are certain hazards and complications attached to multiple pregnancies.
• Contact your doctor if you become pregnant. He will discuss the risk and the benefits as you take Clomiphene while pregnant. Clomiphene is known to pass in breast milk. Thus, you should avoid breast feeding while you are under this medication.

Clomiphene and its Potential Side Effects:

• Severe allergies such as rash, hives, itching, breathing difficulty, chest tightness, swelling in the mouth, lips, face, or tongue
• Increased risk of Ovarian cancer
• Spontaneous abortion
• Over stimulation of Ovaries

Shelf life of Clomiphene:

The expiration date of Clomiphene is mentioned in its blister pack. Take note that the expiration date is varied from different batches. Usually, the shelf life is two years from the time of manufacture.
